Welcome to Mrs. Tut's Counselor Corner

My name is Stephanie Tutkovics and I am the Pk-3 school counselor at Timmons Elementary School. School counseling has been my ultimate career goal and I’m thrilled to be at Kenston schools!
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K-8) from The Ohio State University and my Master’s degree in School Counseling (K-12) from Cleveland State University. In addition to my degrees, I also have my Reading Endorsement from Kent State University and my Reading Recovery training from The Ohio State University.
I started my teaching career in Syracuse, NY teaching first grade. When we moved back to Ohio, I worked in Shaker Heights as a long term sub for Kindergarten and Second grade in addition to working as a Title One Tutor. I stayed home with my children for 13 years and during that time I was on the board for their Co-op preschools and volunteered for the Ohio Reads program and other PTO activities. For seven years I worked for Aurora City Schools as a reading intervention teacher for grades K-5. The last five years I have worked as an elementary school counselor for Crestwood Intermediate School and Streetsboro Elementary School.
During my “free” time, I like to read, garden, exercise and hang out with my family. My husband and I have been married 32 years, and we have three children. Madeleine, graduated from Miami University as a special education teacher. She is now working as an Intervention Specialist in Twinsburg Schools. Alexander, a graduate from Miami University, working at Rockwell Automation as a computer engineer. Grace, is a Senior at Ohio University majoring in Business, with a job lined up with Huntington bank. I am thrilled to be a Kenston Bomber #bombersflytogether.
