The role of the school counselor is: *Provide small group interventions that target specific behaviors OR provide support for social emotional issues. *Meet one on one with students who need extra support when dealing with personal issues. *Provide classroom guidance lessons monthly in each classroom. * Working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and the community to identify and remove barriers to learning. The role of the Therapeutic Behavior Support Behavioral Specialist is: *Helping parents meet their children’s behavioral health care needs and become aware of community supports and services. --provide parent support, be the connection with schools and court, coordinate services within the agency, assist in finding community resources (utilities, food, housing, clothing, medical) *In home, school or a neutral location meetings with the family. *Can meet with students at school, as needed.
